Who is Lucien, the Horizon Walker? - D20 Collective - Divinations form the Collective

Greetings to all you Game Knights!

You may have heard my name tossed around a bit here and there over the past few months, so I think it’s about time for a bit of an introduction. I am Lucien, the Horizon Walker, or just Lucien, and I have been managing a lot of D20 Collective over the past few months. D20 Collective has gone through a lot of changes over the past few months, one of those being the addition of me to the party. Doug, the founder of D20 Collective, handed the mantle over to my divine patron, Ben, in order to be able to focus on personal matters. I excitedly reached out, having prior experience doing things for websites not too unlike D20COLLECTIVE.COM and to much surprise, my pact was then signed with Ben to become the voice for D20 shortly after. To be fully transparent with you, it was an intimidating mantle to take hold, but I’m not exactly one to say no to a good challenge when it may lead to something great.

Like many others, I started playing Dungeons and Dragons in high school. I had always had an interest and eventually worked up the courage to approach a classmate who played and asked to join. Ever since then, I’ve been playing, but to be frank, it was not too long ago. I’ve only actually been playing for about 6 or 7 years (I’ll let you do the math to guess my age), which compared to many of you may seem like a pretty insignificant amount of time. I’ve only really played a touch of 3.5e and mainly only play 5e. Not to say I don’t desperately want to play the other editions, I just don’t have the time to get a group. Hopefully, that will change in the future. Seeing as I’m not the most experienced, I am always a bit nervous to write things like this with the chance of so many being able to read it. But what’s life without having to bite the bullet and jump in full force sometimes.

A bit about me aside from the obvious love of D&D. Despite being a full-time marketer and operational head for D20 Collective, consider myself primarily a graphic designer. I have been working on my skills in graphic design all throughout high school and had started studying that in college before dropping out due to financial complications. Despite all the writing I do on a daily basis, I am not a writer. I actually struggled in English for the majority of my schooling. I have a deep passion for all things related to character design, worldbuilding, and storytelling and aspire to eventually start my own series of some kind in the future. Being able to improve my craft through tabletop RPG is actually what got me here in the first place. Due to my love of storytelling and character design, I also love cinema and video games. I may not see every movie, but I love hearing breakdowns of all the latest films, both good and bad. My favorite video game at the moment is Divinity: Original Sin 2, but that may not be too surprising to some of you. Music is another one of my joys in life. Pretty much every genre I can find something to enjoy from. I try to be open-minded and accepting of everything and everyone.

The last few months here have been a dream. Not everyone gets to do what they love, let alone get paid while doing it, and I am very fortunate to be here doing exactly that.
