D&D Hot Take: Let the Warcraft Players In. You’ll Survive.

Somewhere, someone is preparing a heartfelt speech about how World of Warcraft will ruin Dungeons & Dragons.

I hope their table appreciates the irony when they deliver it while playing an elf named Legolas.

With D&D: World of Warcraft arriving November 17, October’s previews have shown off its subclasses, professions, factions, and multiclass possibilities. There’s now plenty to debate beyond whether Azeroth belongs at the table.

My thoughts?  Someone wanting to play a Death Knight is a perfectly good reason to start playing D&D. They don’t need a more respectable origin story.

Nobody Arrives Knowing What a Bonus Action Is

Maybe Warcraft gets someone interested who has never touched a character sheet.

They recognize the setting. They have a character idea. They’re willing to spend Saturday learning which oddly shaped object is the d12.

That sounds like a recruit. Why are we conducting a background check? Come in come all!
